The ACTSIX Northwest Leadership
Scholarship Initiative each year awards ten (10) Tacoma students
full-ride scholarships worth over $120,000 to Whitworth College in
Spokane. Students selected also receive extensive support, mentoring
and leadership training. They are seeking young people who are
passionate abut learning, eager to foster intercultural
communication and relationships, willing to step out of their
comfort zones, committed to serving those around them, and ready to
make a difference on the Whitworth campus and in their communities

legal notice announcing a Letter of Solicitation (LOS 2007-2003 and
LOS 2007-004) issued by the Minority and Justice Commission. You may

are looking for educators or consultants (vendors) interested in
developing and presenting a cultural diversity education program at

Voter Registration - There are 2 million African Americans
who are eligible to vote but are not registered. Of the 12 million
African Americans
who are registered to vote, 1/2 do not particpate in elections. If
you're already registered, please vote in every election and recruit
10 people
to become registered. For registration information, visit the Web site

LAAPAC Needs You!
Lakewood African-American
Police Advisory Committee is looking for volunteers. Our group
meets the First and Third Tuesday of every month at 6:30 pm at the
Lakewood Police Department in Lakewood. "Bridging gaps between the
Community and the Police Department" is our Purpose. Please feel
free to come out and meet with us at your convenience.
